Sleepy Mornings

Most mornings Alex wakes up around 7:30am, eats his bottle, and is ready to go back to bed by 8:15am. Yesterday, he woke up ready to play for a while. Now, he used to do this once in a while when he was still eating in the middle of the night, and that was exasperating because I was so sleepy. It's not so hard to deal with now that he wakes up at a normal time! Actually, now it's pretty fun to see him all smiley and "talking" and playful in his PJ's. (I personally believe that babies should just wear PJ's their entire first year! They are just that cute!) So yesterday we got out the camera and captured the fun and sleepy moments!

Alex is still refining the skill of gripping on to something and not flinging it into his face! Of course, everything he gets ahold of goes straight to his mouth!

A New Nursery Buddy!

Tonight we visited the newest member of the Davidson family: little Emmit! He is cute as a button and we were excited to meet him. Praise the Lord his entry into the world went smoothly for the new mommy and he is healthy and well. In this picture you can see how happy we girls are to finally all be holding our boys!

Emmit Mitchell Davidson, born Sunday, October 8, 2006, 7lbs. 1oz., 19 in. The little family is already at home and doing well.

Fun 'n' Games

The Tigers Beat the Yankees!!! It was a happy celebration at our house Saturday night, and we got to share it with Greg, Jenny, and Josh, who came over to watch the game with us(the girls did some scrapbooking and caring for the little ones more than watch, but we got to see all the key moments). It is fun to watch Josh and Alex together now that they are taking more notice of each other. They actually gave each other some pretty big smiles this time and it was adorable.

Watching baseball play makes me so sleepy....
Do I have to take a nap? It's only the 7th inning! Fine, then I will just lay here and suck on my hand until my fingers fall off!

Who's Your Tiger?

Watching the Tigers' games has become a real family affair. Since they are so close to kickin' the Yankees I got Alex an outfit to wear to watch the game with Daddy today. (ok, so the only one they had left was 2 sizes too big and he's swimming in it, but I still couldn't resist...guys like to wear their clothes baggy right?) Will Alex be their good luck charm....Ryan seems to think so....Alex doesn't look so confident. What will our family be doing at 4pm today? Watching our boys win! (well, Alex might be sleeping, and in that case we will have to give silent cheers!) Go Tigers!

Daddy & Alex played some fun games together after we got back from our walk this morning. It's funny how Alex already seems to know who gives more luv'n and who gives more fun'n!! He and Daddy already horse around!

Alex's Adventures Today

We are really concentrated on helping Alex fall asleep on his own, and he is doing really well. It took him 45 min. the first time yesterday, but this morning it only took him 15 min.!! We have been seeing a bit of a stubborn streak in him lately...which side of the family does that come from???? We'll let you all decide!! He's still sleeping through the night and his catnaps during the day are starting to get longer, so he really is a great sleeper.

The caption for this pic: Why drink a bottle when you can suck on your burp cloth?

In a few weeks Alex is going to be ready to try some cereal, so I wanted to prep him for the big day by getting him used to sitting up in his booster seat. So far, so good! He can't quite hold himself up all the way, but the support it gives him helps him sit up a lot--and he likes it! Who's the big man on campus now?? :-) It is so fun seeing him grow up (way too quickly) and try new things. I love being a mommy!

The Coon men love to watch their sports!

Hangin' Out

Here are just a few fun pics of Alex hangin out at home--nothing too exciting going on today! I love this Pooh outfit. I just got Alex's 3-6 month clothes out for him to start wearing and Ryan says that Alex is my real-life doll cuz I have so much fun dressing him. If he thinks I'm bad now, wait till we have a girl!!

Rainy Days

Alex seems to have inherited Ryan and my love of rain and thunderstorms. If he's sleepy and I rock him outside on the porch swing he goes out right away. If he's awake and we go outside during the rain he is so alert and content to stare. What's going on in those pondering little grey cells?

Tummy Time

Until this week Alex has cried through any attempt at tummy time, but now that he can hold his head up really well, he tolerates it for a few minutes. Today was the first time that he actually was pushing up and seemed to enjoy his tummy time!

Alex Turns 3 Months Old!

These are Alex's 3 month pics we had done at Sears. We thought the lady did a great job.

He's growing up so fast!

peek a boo!

This is how Alex helps mummy in the kitchen!

These days as soon as Alex lays on his back his feet pop up in the air and his hands go to his mouth to be sucked on!

It's amazing how much babies enjoy the TV! Too much, really! We try to limit the TV Alex watches to sports with Daddy and Baby Einstein DVD's. In this pic he's watching Baby Einstein animal adventure. He likes to talk to the animals in this one!

Alex - Month Three, cont'd

What are those prickly things on your face, Daddy?

Daddy & Alex at the beach.

Recently Ryan preached at a church up north (Cass City) and we made a family outing of the weekend, going to my old church in Croswell, our favorite restaurant in Lexington, and the lakeside. Alex slept through most of it, but seemed to enjoy the colors of the lake and the nice breeze!

This picture was taken right before we went on one of our walks. It's cold enough that we have to put on some layers if w walk in the morning. Alex loves his Snuggli (a front carrier) and I get a great workout with 16 extra pounds strapped to me!

In my Sunday finest!

Hey, where'd that bottle go?
