Decorating Easter Eggs

Alex loves eggs, so he was instantly excited about this new project!

Poor Sam was so sad to not be able to get in on the action. But he in that completely destructive phase right now and there was no way that boy could get too close to cups of dye! We felt so bad for him so daddy came up with a way for Sammy to get invovled.

I think this was right before Sam threw the egg on the ground, it cracked, and he said "uh-oh!"

Alex was very diligent about counting the number of times each egg got dipped.

this was right before Sam squeezed the egg so hard he crushed it!! ;-) Captain Destructo strikes again!!

These are our eggs on our new egg tray that we actually made as a family! A lady in our church has a small ceramic shop so we went there a few weeks ago and painted this egg tray just for Easter. It was a really fun time and now we have this to bring out every Easter to remember it!

Alex's 1st Buzz Cut !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "Before" Pic...

"Wait, I liked that hair! I think I want a second opinion!!!"

"Ahhh, the cool comfort of a popsicle!" (or as Alex says it a "posicky"

After bath time, all clean and buzzed up!

Easter Egg Hunt

Mom, Jen, and Grandma came for Easter. It was the first year since we've been married that we had family with us on Easter Sunday--it was nice. Dad couldn't come cuz he had to work, but he came on Tuesday. On Saturday we had a little egg hunt with the boys. We only had 11 eggs, so it wasn't a huge to-do, but Alex really enjoyed it! Sam, well, he could have cared less, he just wanted to be held that day! We hid the eggs while the boys napped and then had our hunt when they woke up--then we went out for pizza! It was a fun afternoon! (I just realized that I haven't even posted the pics of decorating the eggs yet...I'll try to do that tomorrow.)

Our Little Monkey

Alex came running out to the kitchen the other day saying "Sam-by, Sam-by!" So I ran out to the livingroom to see what was the matter and found Sammy up on top of the back of the couch--his favorite perch with Daddy--all by himself! That boy can climb!

These two like to watch the neighbors and then gossip about all the juicy goings-on!! ;-)

Hi Josh!

Our friend Josh had a fun video on his blog for Alex which he loved! In fact as asked, "Josh, one more time?" so many times that I think we actually watched the video 5 or 6 times in a row! Josh, you were quite the movie star at our house the other day! So we thought it would be fun to do a video for you! The first part is Alex doing his first Bible verse. The rest is supposed to be him singing his abc's, but he lets mommy sing a solo for most of it! figures! He does know the whole song, sang it with me on the video this morning when he watched it! What a goob! Anyway, all that to say a big "HI" to our little friends Josh and Noah! Miss you!
p.s. sorry the video is sideways. My bad!

Some Backyard Fun

For Alex, "outside" is not just one word. He says it more like this: "outside-play! outside-play!" Which is usually followed by "slide!" or "bubbles!" his two great loves, whichever he thinks of first. For Sam "outside" means room to run. The child will not stay put. He would be running all over the neighborhood if we would let him. We are trying to teach him the boundaries of our yard, but it is slow in coming. Sam's motto apparently is: don't fence me in!

Zoom, Zoom

I have found that as the only female in a house full of males in order to survive and be counted as worthy I must, in fact, sharpen my skills at mastering the necessary sound effects. Namely those associated with modes of transportation--the words "zoom, zoom" don't get far with these guys!! Here is my inspiration:

All-in-One Entertainment

Here is Sammy's version of the "One Man Band" as he dances, conducts, and claps for himself all in one! Who needs tv when we have this kind of entertainment in the house?

Alex & His Books

Lately Alex has been really into reading. Especially any books about transportation (namely trains), counting, colors, shapes, or animals.

I actually had to move the bookshelf in his room to the end of his bed because he found out that he could reach it from his bed and pull books up with him to read during naptime instead of sleep!

Here he is with some of our library books. We've become regular attenders of the library story time and both of the kids LOVE it! I have to be careful not to mention it unless we are actually ready to go or he walks around asking for "libary" a million times until we are out the door!

Attempting to share books with little brother. We have really be trying to teach him to be kind to Sam and share his things as well as be a good example of obedience and love. Is it sinking in? I think little by little!!

Snugglin' with Grams

When mom comes to visit Alex loves to get up on her air mattress with her and snuggle in to watch a cartoon!

Some Sammy Candids

This is Sam's Cowboy Pose! He hangs his from the waist of his pants and just stands there like he's just way too cool!

And this is Sam's new trick in the tub. He covers his face in bubbles and giggles. He likes to do this to make his brother laugh!

Just Hangin' Out

Life has been so CRAZY around here since Christmas that any night we do get all together at home we have really just enjoyed hanging out together with nothing we HAVE to do! We play with toys, tickle, do playdough, read books...And laugh a lot!!
